While Studio D’Artisan is still making waves in the heritage and Japanese denim games, it has been a stalwart for over 35 years. The Japanese denim label is part of the famed ‘Osaka 5’ - a club of five Japanese denim labels responsible for shaping the modern selvedge industry as we know it.

This is a vintage coverall from Studio D’Artisan, likely from the late 1990s. Cut from a mid-weight Japanese denim milled to replicate denim from ye early 20th century, this coverall is inspired by the Work Coats worn by Railway workers and engineers in the the 1920s and 30s. It comes fitted with  deep patch pockets, a red pocket watch button hole on the placket, branded hardware, and an old-school Studio D’Artisan neck label that is no longer in use

Being at least 20 years old, this rare piece has a lot of character on offer through the sheer level of fading and denim evolution. Roping can be found at the seams as seen in the images, and the overall steely tone and texture of the denim is something to be admired.
